About Kip
I am Kip Howell, 2nd generation Asian American, queer/trans, and a mixed/multi media artist. I live in Tacoma and work out of my home producing a wide variety of painted and printed works. I went to UW Seattle for Marine Biology and SOTA for fine arts which is why my work often features marine life. I spend a lot of time block printing as I enjoy the detailed process of slowly creating the image I want to print. However, my portraits are where my more emotional and personal work shines. I play more with themes and the story I want to tell in the making of these pieces.
